May 2024: The Same Tungrad, Different Difficulty

The Tungrad Ruins, unlike the farming location for Tungrad accessories, is classified as a top-tier monster zone. Having obtained a telescope part from the City of the Dead, I had no choice but to start subjugating for parts in the Tungrad Ruins with my insufficient specs. It didn't take long to obtain the last telescope part, and in that moment, the title "Clairvoyant" was born. I was happy when I earned the "Archaeologist" title, but the "Clairvoyant" title was more significant to me, as it was a badge of survival in a top-tier monster zone, and not many players had it at the time.

After completing the treasure, I had a small episode of revenge against the adventurer in Hystria. I believe their enhancement level dropped, so our reunion was rather bittersweet.

June 2024: Another Great Treasure - The Journey for the Rich Merchant's Ring

I continued to challenge myself for the Rich Merchant's Ring. After three months of treasure hunting, I obtained the first Rich Merchant's Ring Piece from Olun's Golem, securing another ticket to hell beyond Hystria.

Fortunately, many events related to increased item drop rates were taking place, allowing me to collect all the pieces from Olun's Valley, Ash Forest, Crypt of Resting Thoughts, and Padix Island within a month. Except for Padix Island, all were top-tier monster zones, and I felt a sense of pride in no longer being a rookie adventurer.

At this point, I was filled with hope. I thought I was close to completing the Rich Merchant's Ring, even writing guides for other players challenging it.

July 2024: A Hellish Month in Sycraia

Sycraia Underwater Ruins (Upper Zone). A monster zone where item drop rates do not apply. Statistically, it takes about 100 hours to obtain the Rich Merchant's Ring Piece, but in my case, it took over 300 hours, even when calculated at the minimum. It was the most challenging moment in my entire Black Desert playtime, as there was almost no interaction with other players. However, it was also a time when I grew closer to friends I knew in the game. I received a lot of comfort from friends who occasionally sailed to the upper level to see me, and I made new friends by meeting other players aiming for the Rich Merchant's Ring in the upper level and chatting with them. Lo and behold, I eventually succeeded, and became a "Plutocrat" nine months after starting the game. I believe I might be the fastest adventurer to complete the Rich Merchant's Ring based on account creation date.

As a side note, during the [PEN: Tarnished Sword] enhancement event, I quickly completed it using only materials gathered in the upper level, which might rank me among the top on the Korean server. I vividly remember receiving many recommendations and thank you messages after posting it on an online gaming community.
