If you do not have a Dim magical Shield to start this quest you can get one from the NPC Ronatz the Arms Dealer in the Capital of Calpheon. (If you need armor see Grandus the Armor Dealer)
You will need 2 token of promise to exchange for whichever you need, armor/shield/other off-hands.(See pic) You can get these from the hourly quests at Hexe Sanctuary and Saunil Fortress (Becker at Hexe Sanctuary Analysis & Bacho Ladericcio at Suppress Shadow Shrine respectively).
