It was right around the beginning of the Great Expedition.
At the time, the Cox Pirates were starving for some action.
You see, not many adventurers came around here.
Then I heard the Cox Pirates were to leave this place.
Their plan was to infiltrate an island closer to a town,
in order to target adventurers still new to sailing.
However, none of them wanted to leave.
Then someone threw a torch onto the barracks.

Just my opinion, but...
I think the Cox Pirates are a bunch of cowards.

To suddenly see again the paintings I thought had burned away...
I'm shaking as though I'm back there again.
