- Description: August 9 I continued atop my camel until I finally arrived at Shakatu, the home base of Valencia's largest merchant guild, the Shakatu Merchants. I was thinking of only restocking my food and water supply and heading back on the road when a so-called member of the Shakatu Merchants approached me. Apparently rumors of my travels were being retold all over. It seems my fame does proceed me. I followed one member to meet the boss, Shakatu himself. I shared the tales of my adventures, of which he took a great liking to, and he held a banquet in my honor, even introducing me to the game of Yar! It was a simple game of cards and luck, which I got the hang of rather quickly, and bested Shakatu to his surprise. Muttering that games and business are one and the same, Shakatu proposed that I join his ranks in the Shakatu Merchants. However, confessing that I still had some adventuring left in me, I respectfully declined. | |
