The Valkyris Enslar had taken in only one goddaughter: Margarethe Brandt.

Once known as Subject 0, she was the first test subject in the early, ultimately failed Valkyrie Project—an attempt by the Elionian Church to harness Sacred Power in children with latent aptitude for Sacred Power, long before the current Valkyries existed. But the unstable power ran rampant, and after repeated failures, the Church ordered her to be disposed of. Only Enslar's desperate efforts spared the girl's life, sealing her away rather than leaving her to be executed.

Though she had vowed to become a light to the world, her life was forced into shadow—solitary, erased, forgotten. Margarethe's name was never recorded. Her very existence vanished from history.

Even in the end, she was treated as nothing more than a tool. When the Valkyrie Knights were offered up as a sacrifice to Kzarka, Margarethe was unleashed as a living weapon to destroy them. In her berserk fury, she barely managed to regain her senses with the Valkyries' help. But by then, Enslar and her sisters-in-arms had already been betrayed and stood on the brink of annihilation. In that moment, Margarethe made her choice: she would sacrifice herself... to seal Kzarka.
