Cartil Tankta is the Second Chief of the Turo tribe of the dense forest of Tunkuta. He has no choice but to seek help from Circa, a Verti negotiator who serves Viorencia.

Despite Quturan's curse, the souls of the Turos never dried up, and they stood watch over Tunkuta throughout Orzeca's golden age and decline. The Turos were born and died in Tunkuta, and it was their destiny to remain in the only forest in the Arid Land of O'dyllita. They had to stay in the forest. But at some point, the Turos began to grow restless. Many Turos began to speak of "Thornwood Castle," and then one day, the Ahib, riding the Salun Bears and wolves they had once shunned, strode into their land.

Nobody stopped them, for the Chief himself had allowed them to use the path leading to Thornwood Forest. Since then, the foul-smelling Ahib have gradually begun to occupy the forest, but strangely enough, most of the Turos seemed to accept it. He did not know why. But the Second Chief could not understand it. And moreover... the Turos who shared his thoughts began to suffer from an itching pain all over their bodies. All except for him...
