This guy's amity game is horrible (nearly impossible to win, and if you do you'll get 20 amity max). If you're going for the knowledge, just dump a bunch of energy greeting him for 300 amity. The knowledge at 700 amity can be obtained elsewhere much easier.

The range on this guy's Interest level and Favor is just plain stupid... you'll burn a lot of Amity getting absolutely anywhere. Buckle up.
I suggest re-rolling the conversation until his Interest Level is at least under 40, and his Favor under or close to 20. I personally would cut the conversation short if I could nab 50 or more Amity since it's really easy to get a requirement and fail.
Best Overall Combo I came up with: (I favored success over completely optimizing amity gain)

3. Evil Gods of Darkness
4. Dragon Watcher
5. Bell Ringing from the City
6. Road to Penitence

Guys, only press F5 in front of him and it will be easier...Just a joke, a loose of time and a loose of energy, even with decent Interest and Favor i did 78 amity... F5 is better, safer and can be spam with a amity potion too (+3 per F5)

I recommend getting the amity for the NPC via the f5 greet and the f5 greet only. Getting it via the minigame just isn't worth it. You're highly likely to get win condition that will be impossible to complete and you'll just waste 2 energy.
Using 3 energy to wave sucks but with a few select NPCs it actually ends up being the less energy-wasting option.
