An Adventurer's Story

The Wild Adventures of a Treasure Hunter
(This tale unfolds before all the monster zones got revamped.)

The reason I became a treasure hunter is simple: romance, fun, and fame!

Isn't that enough? But everyone tried to dissuade me. "You shouldn't do that. You'll get tired of it quickly." Looking back now, those words were a warning of the arduous journey ahead.

My first challenge was crafting Ornette's and Odore's Spirit Essences. The guild members looked at me and said, "Are you crazy?" Maybe they were right. Ornette was manageable, but Odore was the real challenge.

I gathered so many Ferrica feathers that I thought the entire nation could wear padding made from them. I lived among feathers for months and finally acquired the materials for Odore.

Unaware of what was to come, I spent six months shouting "Mansha! Mansha! Mansha!" while running through Manshaum Forest almost every morning as if it were a stroll. The trees seemed to wave at me, and the monsters seemed to avoid me with expressions that said, "You again?"

Finally, when I completed both Ornette and Odore, I felt as if I had obtained all the treasures in the world. But for me, it was just the beginning. "There are still more treasures to find!" I said, with a grin already forming on my face.

The next challenge was crafting the Archaeologist's Map, and the difficulty spiked. When I arrived at the Sulfur Mine, I genuinely thought I could smell sulfur through the monitor. It was such a grueling hunt that it felt like a 4D experience. When I reached Pila Ku Jail, I realized, "This is a real prison!" Every day was a survival game there because a guild war had been declared, and enemies with red names were always present where I hunted. The name "prison" felt all too fitting. Yet, I couldn't give up.

Finally, I obtained the Archaeologist's Map and barely escaped the war zone. After catching my breath, I ventured into Hystria Ruins and Aakman to gather compass parts. But every time I entered, I was caught in another guild war and thrown out hundreds of times! After over eight months of staring down monsters, I finally completed the compass. By then, the monsters seemed to look at me differently, as if to say, "This guy... he's relentless."

Then one day, I heard that updates were temporarily halted due to optimization issues. "What am I supposed to do in the meantime?" I swallowed all sorts of bad words and continued my adventure, but people around me started to drift away.

Despite that, I set my sights on Ebenruth's Nol, collecting coins diligently. I saved 2 million coins over a year, 10 and 100 at a time, and bought Ebenruth's Nol. But at that moment, I asked myself, "Why did I buy this?" It felt like I had obtained the most unnecessary treasure in my Black Desert life. I haven't sailed since.

Anyway, when the dark times ended and O'dyllita was updated, a new mission awaited me: the Rich Merchant's Ring. From here, you'll see just how hopeless I am. I went straight to Olun to get the ring, and party members came and went, collecting ring pieces. I couldn't even see the shadow of a ring piece. Outwardly, I congratulated my party members with a smile, but inside, I was thinking, "Sniff, I'm so jealous... Why me!!!"

As time passed, it became harder to find a party, and I ended up hunting alone in party zones. Of course, those who came for party hunts in Olun didn't leave me alone. "Why are you soloing in a party zone?" Every time, I shouted inwardly, "I don't want to either!"

Time passed, and my equipment, including Deboreka, became endgame gear, but I still couldn't get the Rich Merchant's Ring Piece from Olun. Every time I took down Olun's Golem, I shouted, "1!" thinking the odds were one in a million, and I'd succeed if I rolled a 1!

And finally, the moment came.

While exchanging trivial jokes with party members and hunting without any expectations, a character in front of me cheered! The message for the Rich Merchant's Ring Piece appeared! Everything seemed to move in slow motion, like a near-death experience. At that moment, I shouted so loudly that my mic almost exploded, "AHHHHHHHHH!" The party members laughed heartily and congratulated me, but they didn't know. They didn't know how much scolding I got from my wife and how much hair I lost trying to find a party to get that one piece...

I thought it was finally over, but then a telescope appeared on my PC... Well, now I understand! If there's treasure, I'll head back to the forest, the meadow, the highlands. There's no giving up at this point. That's the fate of a treasure hunter! I'm not sure if I have treasure luck, but I genuinely enjoy the process of obtaining treasure itself.
