Chapter 3: Agnete's Long-Held Wish

She introduced herself as Agnete, a daughter of Labreska and, like me, a Black Spirit symbiote.

"I came to reclaim the Holy Flame."

The flame she spoke of was Ynix. She meant to reclaim the flame that had once belonged to her mother and restore the glory of Omua. To Agnete, ending the ancient feud with Markthanan was part of fulfilling that goal.

The Golden Dragon and Black Dragon had hated each other for ages, and their daughters had inherited that hostility from birth. It was a conflict carved into their bones long before either had reason to question why.

I thought back to their clash in the mine.

With Grey nowhere in sight, Agnete offered to travel with me. A true dragon could rival even a god in power, she said, but together, the two of us might still bring one down.

I accepted her offer of a temporary alliance. We would learn whether our goals truly aligned at Markthanan's castle.
