The traveler looked to where Heungbu was pointing to see the gourd,
with cracking noises, growing to the size of a human.
Heungbu hurriedly brought the gourd down and called his wife an children to help open it up.

"Whirling whirling, whistling whistling, sawing sawing sawing away!
Split a gourd, and another one, I, Heungbu, am on a roll!"

Heungbu whistled and sang a little tune as he was opening the gourd,
when cows, chickens, and all sorts of treasure began pouring out from inside.

The dumbfounded Heungbu, confused as to whether this was a dream or not,
rubbed his eyes again and only believed what he saw after giving himself a strong pinch.

The exuberant Heungbu began to dance,
and the rest of his family joined him.

But a servant of Nolbu, who was secretly watching Heungbu's house,
witnessed the scene and hurried back to tell Nolbu everything that he'd seen.

Nolbu, infuriated by the fact that his poor brother was now richer than him,
broke the leg of a swallowtail that had made a nest in his home, hastily wrapped it leg,
then screamed at it to bring him a gourd seed as thanks for patching it up.

A different swallowtail came flitting in with another gourd seed.
With a grin that reached his ears, Nolbu threw the seed into his yard
and watched it grow into a gourd the size of a human.
