- Description: Chapter 2: Uturi's Final Words Uturi handed a sack of beans to his mother, asking her to roast them. Whilst roasting the beans, one sprang out onto the floor, and Uturi's mother, hungry, decided to eat it. Then, when Uturi ate the beans, something miraculous happened. Uturi began to transform, turning into something that looked like a magpie. Uturi's body became as hard as steel, all except for one spot, his left armpit, that remained bare because he didn't eat the bean his mother had ate. Uturi knew that the soldiers would come for him again. He earnestly asked his mother: "Mother, the king's soldiers will come for me again. If I die fighting, please bury me behind the mountain rock. You must bury me with six measures of millet, six measures of soybeans, and six measures of red beans. No one should know where I am buried for three years. Do you understand?" Though it seemed an unbelievable story, Uturi's mother agreed because he was such a unique child. And soon after, just as Uturi had predicted, the soldiers appeared. Even Do wielders from the Mythic Investigation Bureau had come to deal with Uturi, now presumed a yogwe. Uturi fought bravely. The soldiers' spears and arrows could not penetrate Uturi's hard armor. But there were too many soldiers, and eventually, he was stabbed in his left armpit and died. Bitterly weeping, the couple buried their son Uturi. Respecting his final wishes, Uturi's mother buried him with millet, soybeans, and red beans. | |
