The situation with Marg was brought to the attention of the entire Godr-Ayed Thea, who saw their purpose as to spread the knowledge of the elements, and not bend them for destructive purposes.
Eventually, this caused a schism within the group.
A faction who had been jealous of Lord Red's achievements began openly criticizing the stability of his method. Not long after, all of the Godr-Ayed Thea came to denounce Lord Red as a madman blinded by the pursuit of destruction.
Lord Red was certainly aware of this change in how their respect had turned to concern, but he was too immersed in his studies to respond. The Godr-Ayed Thea drifted further and further apart from him, and some even began to credit Marg for Lord Red's accomplishments. Once most revered as the brilliant mind of his time, he soon became reviled and his achievements forgotten.
His ego would not let such spite go unchallenged. Utilizing the destruction magics of fire, he threatened the Godr-Ayed Thea several times, and when that proved unsuccessful, he decided to take over the Godr-Ayed Thea by using fire magics that even he himself could not control. Right when Lord Red was launching an assault upon the Wizard's Chamber, which was the center of that realm, the Godr-Ayed Thea activated its absorption magic. In the end, Lord Red was confined in a distorted space for defying the very laws of nature itself.
