Knock, knock. The sound resonated within the quiet room. I paused for a moment, eyeing the door. It then slightly opened, revealing Yolu peeking through.

"Ah, hello!" she greeted me carefully.

As our eyes met, I noticed a hint of tremor in her clear voice.

"Oh... Ah, hello," I replied.

Yolu gave me a smile, however, it appeared fragile, like it could shatter at the slightest touch. Hesitating a moment after my brief response, she stepped further into the room. Surveying the area, she finally stood before me, her smile tinged with awkwardness.

"Shall we be friends? I was worried because there are only boys in the stronghold. I'm really glad you came."

Yolu... Her request made my heart flutter. This honest desire for friendship warmed my heart, even if just for a fleeting moment. Is there a chance I could connect with someone here too? Yet, that feeling was quickly overshadowed by a subtle unease. Why was she opening up to me so easily, knowing nothing about me? Why trust so blindly?

"Okay. Sure."

I nodded earnestly, showing her my biggest smile. Relieved by my answer, Yolu's smile grew even brighter. Her pupils seemed much more luminous than before, as if she had discovered a single ray of hope while walking through a dark path.

"Thank you! We're gonna have so much fun!"
