- Description: When Maehwa Flowers Blossom IV - Final Letter "I intended to dedicate my entirety to walking the path you wished for us, but heaven and earth have conspired to obstruct the fulfillment of that grand purpose. Therefore, I humbly seek to withdraw myself, akin to the maehwa tree branch that you so treasured. Nurture this withered branch for the remaining half of the year. If you do so, I promise that after the winter of the following year, I will be able to fulfill my commitment of protecting every season by your side." Ija grasped the letter and the branches of his maehwa tree and cried out in grief. It was because he still so vividly remembered the day he set off to the south, when his lover had fell into his arms with sorrowful tears. He spent countless days and nights weeping, then eventually rose one evening and set aside his sorrow to write a poem. "The moon follows me as I pace the garden How many times have I circled this maehwa tree? The night deepened as I sat there, ignoring my will to leave The scent of maehwa penetrating my clothes, the flowers' shadows penetrating me That was when I realized that our love would continue on into the afterlife." He did so to go on and unfold their unfulfilled wishes himself without putting their intentions to shame. | |
