Chapter 5: Seungsan

Seungsan advised Mihyun to give up her desire for revenge and live the rest of her life loving someone sincerely. However, Mihyun misunderstood his explanation that unrequited love is more painful than death as a means of revenge, and she paid attention to the other person's changing emotions.

Anyway, Mihyun wrongly assumed that Seungsan had feelings for her because he had saved her. She got upset when he told her that he couldn't ignore her situation because she was the sister-in-law of his closest friend.

I couldn't agree more with Seungsan's words that her 900 years haven't done much for her maturity.

Seungsan owed a great debt to Mihyun's sister, and traveled all around the country, even visiting the Centipede Market, which was Mihyun's ultimate goal. Seeing firsthand that the fox that went there could never come back alive, Seungsan couldn't turn his back on Mihyun.

And Seungsan was not the ordinary person he seemed to be.

He was the descendant of Habaek, root of this country and the god of water. He also was a scholar who guided the Hado School. Those who know of their existence call them "the Secret Society," as they live without revealing themselves, quietly preserving the foundations of this country.
