Show/hide full quest's text That room was left as an example for young sorceresses to remind them of the consequences of practicing the forbidden arts. Illezra was caught reading from those books and was exiled from this village. We foolishly believed that would be the end of it... But we were wrong. Some time later, the Barbarians and Wandering Rogues invaded Tarif. At the time, we were unaware that they were Illezra's servants of darkness. During the chaos, Illezra stole the Book of Cartian buried beneath the roots of the Nantusa Letusa Tree. We realized that the book was stolen only after the Nantusa Letusa started to wither and let out a sharp cry. As the name implies, the Book of Cartian was a book once owned by the Great Sorceress Cartian. We had buried the book as Cartian's Black Spirit was sealed within it. We chased after Illezra to retrieve the book, but it was too late. The Black Spirit had already been released. I sometimes wonder if things would have been different had I left that little girl to die... Maybe then we could have prevented the Three Days of Darkness. Is it my fault the once great Kingdom of Mediah collapsed. Was I so wrong to raise her like my own daughter? If Allan Serbin was in my situation... what would he have done? If I never took in the little girl I found many years back, would things be different? Ahon Kirus is racked with guilt knowing what became of the child she rescued all those years ago. My apologies, I didn't mean to startle you. You weren't expecting a painting to start talking, were you? | |
