It works. You have unlimited amount of time. You can swim back and forth to the surface to take a breath. Make sure you pop all green bubbles. Wear headphones - turn on sound to make sure nothing nearby isn't humming this sound. You must have missed some green orb somewhere. It's whole chain of orbs after all. GL!
