The Legend of Beombawi I - In Wanting to Becoming Human

A long ago, there were a Bear and a Tiger who wished to become Human.
The Bear and the Tiger deeply admired Humans and longed to be like them.

In their desperation, they climbed up Mount Ahshi and earnestly pleaded
Bonghwang to transform them into Humans.

Bonghwang considered their request with a solemn expression and advised
them to eat only mugwort and garlic and spend a hundred days in a cave
without seeing sunlight in order to purify their hearts.

The bear and the tiger relied on each other in enduring
each passing day in the pitch-black cave.

However, when it came to seventy days, the tiger could
no longer stand the painstaking challenge and ran outside.
