Chapter 15: The Conspiracy Unveiled

The four of them put their heads together to unravel the truth behind the king's poisoning. But who was the mastermind lurking in the shadows, orchestrating all these events? The traveler and Dolswe pointed to one man behind it all: Prime Minister Jang Daeseung.

However, the crown prince was puzzled by this revelation. After all, it was Jang Daeseung's father, Jang Jungu, who had overthrown the tyrant King Jeongmyeong and placed the prince's father on the throne. Why would Jang Daeseung, whose family had supported the royal line, turn against the crown? Moreover, if Jang Daeseung had ambitions for the throne, why hadn't he harmed the prince?

The traveler noted Jang Daeseung's connection to the Centipede Market. Everywhere the traveler and Dolswe went, culprits linked to the Centipede Market followed. These individuals aimed to eradicate all yogwes in the Land of the Morning Light. But why? The traveler and Dolswe recalled that the king had been resurrected using the power of a yogwe.

While the king battled illness, Jang Daeseung had ruled the Land of the Morning Light as if it were his own. But when the king awoke, Jang Daeseung must have felt as though his kingdom had been snatched away. To ensure he never lost power to an uncontrollable variable again, he publicly claimed that yogwes made the people lazy and dependent, justifying their eradication. This was the logical conclusion drawn by Dolswe and Seungsan.

In reality, while Jang Daeseung spoke of eliminating yogwes, he was secretly absorbing their power for his own use. This truth supported the notion that his actions were driven by a lust for power, not the welfare of the country.
