Since the 2018 fish table update, the Mediah drop rate is very low.
You'd rather go to Kamasylvia, for instance, in Atanis Pond, Shady Forest or Mirumok Ruins.
3% in Kamasylvia and 1.7% in any other region.

Why negative rate been fishing in okiara and got 3 in less then an hour, mediah rate is shit compared i got 50 gold fish and count on this was still 0, got more leather carp aswell, just go mediah for piranha from school of fish spots

Tried all of these areas, the Extraction Mill is the best place for me. I got 7 in three hours.

I tested Northwestern Gateway/Extraction Mill with active fishing for an hour for the quest [Fishing Leap Artisan 4] The Master Fisher of Splashing Point for the duration. There was some overlap with what Leeby showed in his inventory (I caught one quest Leather Carp), but not enough for me to be absolutely sure the pool of available fish is the same. I would just stick to Splashing Point.

Edit-I got to Splashing Point and 15 min later I caught my second one. Just stay there.

Квест делала в 2023 году.
Выполняется он в Деревне Удильщиков (там где берем задание) но рыбу можно довить и в других местах. Все Гуппи и Пираний я поймала за 6-8ч. афк рыбалки. Проблема была с филоменами. За это время я поймала только 5)0) Читала форумы, много где писали чтобы ловить филомен в Камасильвии. Простояла 6ч. на Пруду Атаници - 1 шт… потом в прудике ниже Луга Наван 4ч. - 0 шт. Решила вернуться в Медию и в деревне выловила остальные за ок. 10ч.

Вывод: Филомен лучше всего ловить в Деревне удильщиков и на это вам уйдут где-то сутки афк рыбалки, потому что падает эта рыба очень плохо.

English: I did the quest in 2023. The best place to catch the fish is Splashing Point (where you get the quest). I caught all the gold fish within 8h of AFK fishing, but only 5 Catfish. I tried fishing in Kamasylvia, but managed to catch only ONE in Atanis pond (8h of afk fishing). I also tried Shady Tree Forest pond for 4h, but nothing. I went back to Mediah and caught the rest of the Catfish in about 10h of afking.

Conclusion: Splashing Point is the best place, but be prepared to afk fish for around 24h because the drop rate of this fish is really low.

That's strange, because the higher rate is 3% in Kamasylvia, as opposed to only 1.7% for Mediah.

Those spots were pretty bad for me. Check my post, I got 3 Yellow-head Catfishes in just like 3 or 4 hours of fishing at the Heidel fishing spot.

Нет, не только. Я ловил несколько, пока оставлял на рыбалку в Хиделе на ивентовом споте. Наловил все 15 за 4 ночи.

I tried both Kama and Mediah for this one. But with no succes at all. Then a friend told me "try Heidel". And yes, in just like 3 or 4 hours of fishing i managed to catch 3 Yellow-head Catfishes.

The best place to catch Yellow-head Catfish is in the ( watchtower ) area under the broken bridge.
