Broken Abandoned House

The people in this area avoid going near the abandoned house located at south of Brellin Farm and below Mountain of Sanctity.
Recently, Calpheon soldiers and Elionian Priests are trying to repair the abandoned house. However, the villagers still avoid going near that house.
There are signs of landslide which seems to have been caused by a fierce battle. Because the mountain range is mostly composed of rocks, it looks as if a landslide may have severely damaged the surrounding area.
What could've happened to the people living in the house?

There is a road leading to the south west area of the outpost. The farmers there are afraid of going next to the deserted house there.
