- Description: Tavu, the storage keeper in Sand Grain Bazaar Storage, said the desert's breath is a quicksand that leads to a secret place filled with ancient artifacts. Find a portal that appears and disappears in the desert to enter Hystria Ruins and find Bert. ※ This is a timed quest with goals that must be completed within the time frame. ※ The time you talk to the NPC to finish the quest is included in the time frame. ※ If you weren't able to finish in time, talk to the starting NPC to reaccept the quest. | |
Show/hide full quest's text Bert, from the Katan Military's gone missing. I fear he's gotten lost out in the vast desert. What's that? The desert's breath? Hmm... It seems to be a metaphorical expression of quicksand from the looks of it. Those spots appear from time to time. No one knows what lies within their depths. Likely certain death, but some say it opens the way to ancient artifact-filled ruins. If so, and if the desert's breath is what's gotten Bert, we don't have much time. Pits of quicksand disappear quickly, so please act fast! You'll never be able to find that place if you keep slacking. Haha! How did you end up here? You must've fallen in the quicksand as well. Don't worry, there's a way out nearby. Look for a place where the wind blows. | |

This quest could be quite annoying as all timed quests are, but there is an easy way to complete it.
1. Get yourself a camel. It's easy to do by finishing this quest: Your Best Friend in the Desert. You can also use a horse or even run on foot using speed powers ups, but camel will save you some seconds.
2. Bert is located inside the Hystria Ruins. The entrances to the Hystria Ruins are spawned randomly in the desert. All possible locations are available here: https://bdocodex.com/us/npc/31090/.
3. I've added two screenshots to the Screenshots tab. One of them shows the locations of the entrances. Circled entrance is one of the closest and spawns at 6pm-7pm by in-game time. Second screenshot shows the map of the Hystria Ruins (original is taken from this Reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/blackdesertonline/comments/cemifa/new_scuffed_hystria_map/). If you'll use the circled entrance you'll land on the spot marked with big red arrow. Then just follow the red line on the map to get to Bert. I was able to do it with 2min left on the timer.

Super useful, thanks a lot. As far as I know you can use do ESC -> Escape to be teleported to Bert when you are inside Hystria Ruins but did not spawn next to him upon entering. Personally I had the best success with the portal west of Illebab Oasis, I had ~1 min left using a T8 horse (I don't like the camel

Pour différencier le temple Aakman des Ruines d'Hystria, il faut faire les 2 quêtes ici : https://bdocodex.com/fr/quest/5746/1/
Le temple aura une simple aura noire, les ruines aurons l'aura noire avec un halo lumineux tout autour.
Mais je n'ai toujours pas eu la chance malgré les astuces, de trouver ces fichues ruines !
Edit : j'ai enfin trouvé comme par hasard juste après avoir réalisé ces 2 quêtes, le bon portail. Vous pouvez, une fois arrivé dans les Ruines prendre la fuite, ce qui vous téléporte directement sur Bert
