It's used in Bartering (200 Cactus Rind for ONE Level 1 bartering) and in Manufacturing. The Manufacturing is for Valencia hunting animals, such as the Deer or Lions/Lionesses. You'll need other items besides the Cactus Rinds and the head of whatever animal you want to manufacture into a higher-tier furniture item, but that's about all the uses for Cactus Rind.
