Tragedy struck just as Ichi was getting used to handling the sah chakram. The Sonan Clan had finally caught up with the refugee woman. After agonizingly thinking over her options, she sent a message to her own clan, that she was willing to help them infiltrate and destroy the Oeki Clan in place for her freedom. Ichi had gone to bed early that eve, so when she awoke, her village was already burning down. Chaos descended upon the people who ran in panic as weapons clashed through the night. Ichi reached for whatever a shortsword abandoned nearby and tried to fend for herself, but all of the villagers felt sapped of their vigor, unaware that the Sonan woman had poisoned the village well. While the Sonans had dared not look over the Oeki lands due to being outnumbered, the full might of the Sonan Clan's sah chakram was too much for the Oeki Clan. The entire clan was eliminated, save for a few prisoners of war. Thanks to a few members of her clan, Ichi barely managed to flee into the forest, where she hid with bloodstained tears. Days past. Ichi had laid there, ready to embrace death, when suddenly, the full moon filled her eyes. That very moment, she promised herself that she would see this through. She then returned to her village, which remained a gruesome scene. Ichi raised up the sah chakram of the Sonan Clan, now piled atop dead bodies. Several emotions overwhelmed her, of which rage became most prominent. Ichi sought out the Sonan woman who had repaid mercy with betrayal, but she had seemingly fled the Ryuta region. At the foot of the grave of her father and the Oeki chief, Ichi made the following vow: 'With this sah chakram, I'll shall repay their debts in full. Until the moon turns pale, and all is covered in the crimson tide of blood.'"
