The Demonlord has left a clue here, as though to mock those who intrude. It appears to be a fragment of a slate. I can see it clearly, yet I cannot reach it. Hidden servants lie in wait. The moment my hand touches the slate, I will be killed.

Does this mean only the worthy may claim the clue? Am I being looked down upon? Damn it.

Even without such help, I will carve my own path. There must be a shortcut somewhere within this castle. The west entrance appears less guarded. I will begin my search there.
