With Cliff's urging, Crucio returned to the throne, but he continued to do nothing and wasted away. His last remaining wish was all but one: for his daughter Jarette to grow up and find a proper partner, so he could finally hand over the crown. However, this was also thought without action, so Roxanne stepped in for the lifeless king and had her handmaid Carolin look after Jarette.

Meanwhile, the news of the suspicious death of Elysia, the former princess of Calpheon, had finally reached Calpheon. Calpheon had the Xian Merchant Guild, who conducted business with Serendia, collect information and proposed countless times for an official investigation into her death. King Crucio never imagined that her untimely death was wrought by Sergio, so he continued to deny Calpheon's requests, which only furthered Calpheon's King Seric's anger. And thus, in the name of uncovering the truth of the princess's death, Calpheon's mighty army invaded Serendia.
