If you plan on getting that knowledge because you're a completist like me, be aware it might take you up to four hours or more. That's what it took me anyway. Thankfully I got the knowledge on first drop. If I hadn't I might have had to do 8 hours or more, who knows. Find yourself a good spot with a lot of thyme, seaweed and aguar (look on BDO codex) and ideally have a pearl shop swimming costume, all the underwater breathing buffs you can get (crystals of submergence, that shellfish meal and the agile seal potions) and obviously also all the mastery you can with ideally gathering drop rate artefacts. 4 hours might not seem long in the grand scheme of BDO things but when you have to go to character selection and also switch serves all the time so you don't have to go back to the surface, it feels a lot longer.

You don;t have to go back to surface at all actually, got than knowledge in less than 20 minutes today between Lema and Tashu island; also knowledge gain chance is 100%, so you get it with the first drop anyway.

Ok at least... Because like for Roe which i was doing as well it took me over two hours because it dropped knowledge on like the fifth drop.
I was probably unlucky with 4 hours but 20 minutes was probably also lucky. Well I dunno, i mean in average it should drop every 300 gathers and I was obviously over that a lot. Easily way past a 1000.
What annoys me right now is I see you need it to craft something to get a guild crafting knowledge and my guild doesn't have a guild house so I can't craft the thing and since the cone snail expires within 24 hours, it means someday when I'm in a guild with a house I'll have to go gather another one. Hopefully it'll be more 20 mins that 4 hours then...

Roe has only a 30% chance of gaining knowledge, so it's a different story. Anyway, there's also one good spot right next to Lema, where I managed to get all that knowledge (clam, red shellfish, abalone, roe, shrimp, cone snail) TWICE, and both times, it took less than 30 minutes. Don't forget to use everything you can get for extra gather item drop rate and knowledge gain chance to minimize the time you going to spend on those seaweeds (and any other gatherable stuff)
Yeah, those guild crafts are such a pain to get, especially if your guild is not so active or recipes have resources that have a time limit on them; however, if you use Shim Cheong's Miraculous Fish Tank, Cone Snail can live there for up to 5 days). In your place, I would prepare as many resources for guild recipes as possible, then go for those time-limited resources, and after that, tried to rent a guild house to get all of the knowledge in one go
