I think you need only the knowledge of the location from the Saunils, you do not have to get the knowledge from all!
Can someone test it please and give Feedback? I did collect all the knowledge (did take a lot hours...4+)
Try to complete the quest after the 500 kills and if you got the knowledge about the saunil fort.

It's Sausans actually and yes you need the knowledge, I couldn't complete the quest without it.
