Long ago, when they were young, there was a rather elaborately-designed corridor which lay abandoned atop a hill near the village. While it had never been completed and hadn't much for show, they would take their friends, all equipped with wooden swords and shields, and set off on an adventure of their imagination in that place.
For someone of their age, it was the perfect playground. They would change their roles nightly. Spies that were assigned to uncover the corridor's secrets, or soldiers going to battle on the opposite sides of a lone wall. Sometimes pretending to be frightening monsters, other moonless nights as ghosts. They wrestled there, and buried time capsules there. It was their tiny little kingdom, and they were the despots.
It was during a time where they could play all day in the abandoned corridor. And yet, as time went on, one by one, their friends would leave, until they, too, wouldn't return to this playground. Much time had passed, and the corridor nearly forgotten... they would step back into this pocket of imagination actualized as a place in reality.

And yet, having pushed only forward, they had become an adult, and could not remember times long lost as a child.
