There was nothing but Iron Coin in there? I think somebody took the initiative... Well, what can I do. You got the coin yourself, so keep it. And this is compensation for your effort. Looking for jewelry is indeed hard. Sweet fruit always comes after patience.

How can i get that quest?

1. Go bree tree ruins and kill objects/mobs in area 1-2 hours that will drop fragments. Arrange fragments in inventory to make keys out of them. These keys are used to summon boss. Right click key to see boss location.

2. After you get all 3 object from boss parts 1,2,3. Only after this you get this quest from it.

3. Go cave next to this quest npc and open treasure and you get knowledge.

Tip: Make this with lvl 36-44 alt because you get hardly any loot from 50+ and takes ages.

I followed this advice with a lvl 36 alt and picked up 10 pieces within 30 minutes. I saw on another board only the various ruin trees give the drops so I focused on those and ignored the golems and spiders. It took 5 boss fights to get the 3 pieces. Two fights produced duplicates.

Finally, the treasure chest is midway down the cave on the right before you get to the rocked doorways you have to knock down.

Keep killing the Ruin Trees. It took me about 2 hours (unlucky, 8 bosses). In the end it is 5 Energy

As a note, the fragments drop from the trees, not the golems.

You don't need knowledge from this quest to get 6/6 energy. You need every other knowledge, though.

So far i have defeated 6 bosses and got the same slate piece everytime, is this just RNG based or should i be doing something different? i.e different boss location etc
Any help would be great!

As of the March 22nd 2023 patch, it looks like the chance to get each individual Slate Piece has been equalized to around 33%:

Fixed so that while defeating Defenders of the Ancient Holy Shrine during the "Ancient Shrine" quest, each slate fragment can be obtained at an equal probability.

I managed to get all 3 different pieces in 5 kills so this does seem fixed.
