세렌디아에 도시 근처에는 부랑자가 많다. 대뜸 비난 섞인 말을 하는 도시 사람들도 많다. 전 재산을 가지고 하이델 도시로 넘어와 집을 샀던 그들이 칼페온과의 전쟁통에 집을 헐값에 팔아 넘긴 탓이다. 전쟁통에 건물이 다 망가지기 전에 이득이라도 챙기자는 선동 때문이었다. 하지만 전쟁은 예상외로 외교적으로 하이델이 칼페온의 소속국이 되는 것으로 그쳤다.

한 순간에 집 없는 부랑자가 된 이들은 각 도시로 흩어져 인근 농가, 글리시 마을 등으로 이주했지만, 여전히 가난하다. 그 덕을 가장 많이 본 자는 누구일까? 세렌디아의 건물 관리인 피에트로 라이아노를 주목하라.
